It’s Been A (Hot) Minute

It's been a hot minute since I've sat down to write.

I got busy. But who isn’t?

The last few months have been full. Work has been busy. One child graduated from college while another finished his first year. There have been celebrations, milestones, and memories. There has also been loss, as my family said goodbye to a parent. Through all of it, life kept moving—fast.

Maybe your life feels the same.

Summer is supposed to be the season of slowing down, but for many women, it feels like the exact opposite. Between vacations, family gatherings, chauffeuring kids, work, and trying to keep everyone else's lives running smoothly, it's easy to put yourself at the very bottom of the list.

We tell ourselves we'll get back to taking care of ourselves when things settle down.

But somehow, they rarely do.

Here's the thing: when you're constantly pouring into everyone else, you're not just neglecting yourself—you're missing out on being fully present with the people you love most. When you're exhausted, overwhelmed, irritable, or simply not feeling like yourself, it's hard to enjoy the moments that matter.

And here's something I see all the time with the women I work with...

Many assume they feel this way simply because they're busy.

While being busy certainly doesn't help, often there's something else happening beneath the surface.

Perimenopause and menopause can quietly affect your energy, mood, sleep, focus, motivation, and even your ability to handle stress. You may feel like you've lost yourself, wondering why everything suddenly feels harder than it used to.

It's not just your schedule.

It may be what's happening inside your body.

The good news? You don't have to figure it out alone.

As a menopause coach, I help women understand what's happening during this stage of life and create realistic, sustainable strategies that fit into their busy lives. Together we focus on nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and building habits that help you feel strong, energized, and like yourself again.

You deserve to be on your own priority list.

Not because you're being selfish—but because when you feel your best, everyone around you benefits too.

So if it's been a hot minute since you've checked in with yourself, consider this your reminder.

Take the walk.

Lift the weights.

Eat the delicious meal.

Go to bed a little earlier.

Ask for help.

Take care of you.

Because you're worth it—and because the people who love you deserve the healthiest, happiest version of you.

I'm here when you're ready.
