Happy World Menopause Day!

October 18 is World Menopause Day! And while menopause may not be everyone's favorite topic, it's certainly one we need to be talking about more!

For far too long, menopause has been something women were expected to just deal with and never talk about. Mood swings, hot flashes, 3 am wakings. But here's the thing: Menopause is so much more and women deserve more than being told to just push through it.

Menopause Is More Than Just a Phase

Perimenopause and menopause can affect just about every part of our lives. Our sleep, energy, mood, metabolism, muscle mass, bone health, and even our confidence can change.

Maybe you're working out the same way you always have, but your body isn't responding the same way. Maybe you're eating well but noticing weight gain around your middle. Or maybe you're exhausted, anxious, forgetful, or just not feeling like yourself.

These changes are real, and while they're common, that doesn't mean you have to simply accept feeling lousy.

The Good News? There Is So Much We Can Do!

One of the things I'm most passionate about as a menopause coach is helping women understand what's happening in their bodies and what they can actually do about it.

We can't stop the hormonal changes that come with aging, but we can absolutely take steps to feel stronger, healthier, and more in control.

Sometimes it's about making small, consistent changes:

  • Strength training: Building and maintaining muscle is more important than ever as we age. It's not just about how we look; it's about staying strong, protecting our bones, and maintaining our independence.

  • Nutrition: Getting enough protein, fiber, fat and other important nutrients can make a big difference in how we feel and support our long-term health.

  • Sleep: Prioritizing sleep and addressing what's interfering with it is incredibly important.

  • Stress management: As a mom and wife I know life can be busy! Finding ways to manage stress and make time for ourselves matters.

  • Education and support: Understanding your options, including menopause hormone therapy and other treatments when appropriate, can help you have better conversations with your healthcare provider.

Let's Change the Conversation

Too many women spend years wondering what's wrong, trying different diets, exercising harder, or simply assuming this is what getting older feels like.

It doesn't have to be that way. Menopause is a natural stage of life, but that doesn't mean we have to navigate it without information, support, or options.

I also think it's important to remember that this stage of life can be an opportunity. An opportunity to focus on ourselves, rethink old habits, build strength, and prioritize our health in ways we may not have done before.

You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone

As a certified menopause coach with over 15 years of experience in health and wellness, I love helping women navigate this stage of life. Whether it's nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, or simply understanding the changes happening in your body, I'm here to help you find realistic strategies that work for YOU.

Through coaching, my goal is to help women feel informed, supported, confident, and strong.

Remember, it's never too late to start taking care of yourself.

Happy World Menopause Day!
